Dr. Kovacs graduated from medical school in Debrecen, Hungary in 1982. For almost a decade after graduation, he worked as an OB/GYN but transferred to be a pediatrician when did his residency in the United States. Upon completion of this residency, he graduated from LIJ Schneider Children’s Hospital (now known as Northwell Health Cohen Children’s Medical Center).
Dr. Kovacs has been working in Great Neck as a primary care pediatric physician since 2000. His patients describe him as personable with an excellent bedside manner. He not only has great diagnostic skills, but he is willing to work with patient parents to ensure they feel comfortable.
At the office, Dr. Kovacs is the only provider, so he views his patients as family members and cares for the family as a whole. At his office patients can get immunizations, vision and hearing tests, strep and other viral cultures, urine tests, physicals, and more. Dr. Kovacs working at the Cohen Children’s Medical Center Pediatric Emergency room too. He is accessible via phone and by pager service after hours.
